Boston Business Journal unveils 2023 CFOs of the Year

Top financial executives at a major construction firm, a performing arts center, a community health center and others are this year’s Boston Business Journal CFO of the Year honorees. Among them is the recipient of the annual F. Gorham Brigham Lifetime Achievement Award, given to a local CFO who has had both notable professional achievements and been active in mentorship and other aspects of the local financial profession.

The 12 recipients, chosen from more than 80 nominees, will be honored at an event scheduled for Thursday, July 20 at the Seaport Hotel.

MIDSIZE PRIVATE COMPANIES

Noreen Crandall, ISG

Crandall has been a CFO for 20 years, all at the Danvers insurance management company ISG. Crandall has helped ISG with seven acquisitions during her tenure, and the company has touted her as a stabilizing force who’s focused on the bottom line. Crandall has done it through challenges outside of work, including her own battle with cancer last year and her husband’s struggle with ALS. In the meantime, ISG has grown rapidly in recent years, including a 300% increase in revenue in the past three years while reducing selling, general and administrative expenses by 20%.
